Weekly Chess Night

All are welcome to join us for Indy's largest weekly chess night at the Latvian Community Center!

First time attending is free (so don't register, just come), but otherwise it's $10/person ($5 for members of Indy Chess).

Adult casual play will also be available, so come make some friends and meet new opponents.

Adults can pair themselves, or can choose to be paired a by the host for games of whatever time control they desire.

For the serious players, there will be a 3ss, 25+5 USCF-rated tournament (sections TBD by attendance) in a separate room.

It affects both regular and quick ratings.  Must be a member of USCF to play rated chess (new.uschess.org/join-us-chess).

Make sure to provide your USCF ID# to info@indychess.org prior to the event, or arrive by 6:15pm to be paired in round one.

There will not be a kids' section this week, as the instructor Mike is out of town.

Typically on Tuesdays there is a kids' game review workshop from 6:30-7:00, followed by kids casual play from 7:00-8:30pm.

Kids can earn medals, and eventually cash in medals for trophies.  There is a prize bin for kids who notate their games.

Kids will play a mixture of long games, blitz, and bughouse, or whatever their heart desires!

Light concessions are available, as is Indy Chess merchandise.

The rooms are wheelchair accessible.

If you are playing in the rated tournament, you should bring your own equipment in case we don't have enough (but we try to provide sets/clocks/scoresheets).  For the casual players, we should have enough sets and clocks!  Notation sheets provided, but bring a writing utensil.
