​Thank you for your interest in the Chess Program at George Washington Carver School 87!  Indy Chess is excited to offer this program on Monday mornings beginning January 12, 2026 until May 11, 2026 from 8:00am to 9:00am in the Art Room.  Students in 2nd to 5th grade are eligible to participate (1st graders will be added to a waitlist in case the club does not fill), and no prior chess knowledge is needed!  The program will use the Coach Jay's Chess Academy curriculum.  There is no cost to register thanks to some donor funding Indy Chess received to help Title I schools.  Questions?  Email info@indychess.org.  The chess club will be taught by Indy Chess club champion Coach Mike Gant, who is in the top 80 rated players in the state of Indiana!
