Thank you for your interest in the Chess Program at George Washington Carver School 87!  Indy Chess is excited to offer this program on Monday mornings beginning October 21, 2024 until December 16, 2024 from 8:00am to 9:00am in the Cafeteria.  Students in 2nd to 5th grade are eligible to participate (1st graders will be added to a waitlist in case the club does not fill), and no prior chess knowledge is needed!  The program will use the Coach Jay's Chess Academy curriculum.  There is no cost to register thanks to some limited grant funding Indy Chess received to help kids that qualify for free/reduced lunch, but parents/guardians able may make a free will offering of any amount at indychess.org/donate if they choose (for reference, the workbooks cost $15 and this program is valued at $129/semester at schools with no grant funding).  Questions?  Email info@indychess.org.  The chess club will be taught by Indy Chess member and class B player Liam Brown, who is in the top 150 players in the state of Indiana!
