Thank you for your interest in Chess Club at Westlane Middle School! Indy Chess is excited to offer this program on Tuesdays 4:40pm - 5:40pm from October 13th through December 15th.

Students in grades 6th to 8th grade are eligible to participate, and the club meets in the TBD. Students will be dismissed to the TBD at 4:25pm and do independent study until 4:40pm supervised by the coaches. Car riders will be picked up at 5:40pm at Door TBD and bus riders will be supervised till boarding the afterschool bus at approximately 6:00pm.

The cost is $109 per semester, which includes workbook materials.  Scholarships: Students on public assistance (or in other financial need) may use coupon code WESTLANESCHOLARSHIP at checkout for 100% off the registration fee.  [You may be asked to provide documentation at a later date.]  Questions?  Email jerika@indychess.org.

​Clubs will be taught by Coach Ryan McCrea.  Coach Ryan is a 1900+ peak USCF-rated player, a Tournament Director with USCF, and has a Master’s degree from Indiana University.  He coached the 1st place 6th Grade & Under Indiana state champion team in 2026.
