About The Event
Time to learn endgame techniques! Kids in 1st-8th grade who know how the chess pieces move and want to begin to unveil the beauty of the game at the next level are welcome to sign up!
Coach Mike Chapuran (a USCF-certified chess coach and tournament director, and founder of Indy Chess) and an assistant will provide a limit of 20 students all of the following:
Two lessons on passed pawn endgame examples, separated into two differentiated learning groups;
Worksheets to cement the understanding of the concepts;
Recreation breaks in the gym or playground with Scatterball, Knockout, and more;
Casual chess play and organized Bughouse games (two-on-two chess);

Registration Fee
Kids do not need to be members of Indy Chess to attend ($50/yr individual, $75/yr family), but benefits include $10 to camp plus a $5 discount to all IndyChess events (including weekly chess nights and monthly tourneys). Go to indychess.org/membership first if interested. Note: If utilizing before care, no need to register (it will be billed after the week).
